Tara’s Miyajima Photos

And as a complement to Jen’s post below, here are my photos from Miyajima. These are all of the temple and tori because I got very cold later on as we climbed the mountain in the rain and refused to take my camera out anymore. But it was a beautiful day — the mist made it all so much more peaceful. The Miyajima day also put the cap on our transportation diversity as well (we’d already had trains and buses and streetcars and trolleys and taxis) but we got to add ferries and two different kinds of ropeways (gondolas) to our checklist. At any rate, by the time we got back down the mountain, my hot bowl of oyster udon (in addition to the raw oysters jen posted of course) was the best thing I’d ever eaten.

These are incredible – the orange paint is the perfect complement to all that atmospheric mist 🙂

I love the “Bridge in Mist” photo…thinking of an enlargement.
